Listening Ears in partnership with the NHS Greenwich, has established a community health and wellbeing project on the Flowers Estate in Abbeywood.  Tagged  Feel Good Fridays, it features various activities that are run by Listening Ears volunteers in conjunction with local residents and other service providers including NHS Greenwich, Age Concern, and Volunteer Centre Greenwich.

It features a range of activities designed to increase community cohesion and reduce isolation. These include drop in sessions, weekly physical activity sessions, monthly pamper days.

We have also delivered training sessions on Understanding Health Improvement in conjunction with the Royal Society of Public Health.  This training was established in response to community need identified through survey of local residents and builds on Listening Ears successful model. We hope to run this training periodically as and when there are enough participants for a training group.

BEFRIENDING & OUTREACH (Community Angels™)
This is a project we have designed to reach out to members of our community who are isolated and lonely either by reason of old age, loss of spouse, health challenges or other reasons. With the help and assistance of our committed volunteers, we will provide companionship, emotional and lifestyle support for them and encourage them to develop interactive skills which will eventually improve their health and they gradually overcome their isolation. We will also provide practical helping hand in little areas of life where they need support to enhance their quality of life and add value to their existence.
